A total of 40 DB-7s were modified to serve as night intruders. They retained the bomb-aimers nose and could carry up to 1089 kg (2,400 lb) of bombs. They had an armament of four .303in machine guns in the nose, as well as single in the rear cabin. Officially named Havoc Mk-I (Intruder), they were also known unofficially as Moonfighter, Ranger and Havoc IV.
